Warfare Prayers

“You don’t casually stroll into battle. You intentionally suit up and march fully armed and covered.” – Christine Caine

There is a real battle going on today, Saints! It has been waging since the first apple bite, only getting stronger, more fierce. The battle is for souls. As a born again believer in Jesus Christ, you are in the royal priesthood, able to approach the throne of grace with confidence!

“For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Cor. 10:3-5

That word “pretension” in the Greek is “hupsoma” meaning high thing. Anything that becomes higher than God in our lives can become a stronghold to us. The enemy also comes at us with false pretensions and lies, to keep us from the victory Christ has provided in this life.

We know from Ephesians that we can put on the armor of God. The only offensive weapon listed there is the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The other offensive weapon we have as believers in Christ is Spirit-empowered prayer.

When you combine the two: God’s Word and prayer – you can celebrate victory over any enemy and every stronghold. There is much to learn here. Not all healing or victory is immediate, but your confidence in prayer will only grown as you pray back to the Father His very words.
